I realized something new while interacting with fellow Persians in the past 24 hours on Facebook.  I realized "some" Persians care more about who is making the statement than the statement itself.  Instead of considering the statement on its own merits, they seem to put great importance on the name of the person saying it (Arabic name or pure Persian), what party, group or affiliation they "may" belong to and what other assumptions they can make about the person.

If someone says: "we need to take action regarding street children and child molestation," 'some' Persians may say "yeh, he was probably a molested street kid at some point himself!"

If you say the peak cultural activity in Persia's history was a few centuries after Islam, some Persians may say he is a Muslim fanatic and a Muhammad lover!!  No matter what you say, assumptions will be made and you will be labeled and categorized quickly.  Quite amazing!  And we wonder why we have so many problems.
